Training & Experience
Dr Viswanathan qualified as an Ophthalmologist in India and completed a two year clinical and research Corneal fellowship at Sankara Nethralaya Medical Research Foundation, one of the premier Ophthalmology training institutes in Asia. During her fellowship, she underwent comprehensive training in the management of Corneal, ocular surface and anterior segment disorders. She worked as a consultant at India and was a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) Glasgow before moving to Australia.
Academic & Research
Dr Viswanathan completed a PhD on Corneal structure and biomechanics in Glaucoma and Keratoconus at Macquarie University, Sydney in 2015. She has conducted several clinical research studies, authored publications in national and international peer reviewed journals and presented at Ophthalmology conferences. She reviews papers for Ophthalmology journals and is a senior clinical lecturer at Macquarie University, Sydney.
